Claudia blends 30+ years of clinical and research expertise, with deep lived experience of the body’s capacity to heal, infusing traditional physiotherapy practice with Eastern philosophies.

Her approach is holistic and compassionate, supporting and guiding injury and illness recovery and management of longstanding conditions to:

Relieve pain and constriction, through manual therapy and self-management techniques.

Restore strength, balance and flexibility, recalibrating the muscular, neurological and sensory systems, through physical activity/exercise, sensory modulation, and cognitive training.

Reclaim confidence in a person’s abilities, independence and agency to live life their way.

Claudia’s Physiotherapy degree (La Trobe University, Melbourne) was supplemented by a Master of Public Health (2008), focusing on gender studies and the social determinants of health, and a PhD (2016) exploring the prevention of falls for people living with dementia.

She is well respected within the gerontology (the study of ageing) community, as the immediate Past President and life member of the Australian Association of Gerontology, and is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Claudia’s practice is open to anyone, with her interest focused on the care of women and people in later life.

For women, it is the challenge of competing pressures and priorities, and/or past experiences, that often minimise their ability to tune into themselves.

For people in later life, it is supporting and enhancing physical and cognitive health, promoting independence and participation in what they love to do.

Her blend of evidence-based practice with holistic intuition ensures that people’s stories are heard and acknowledged, and presenting issues are deeply unpacked to optimise health and wellbeing.

Group programs may be appropriate/of interest after initial consultation.

The 6-week programs are designed to build knowledge and skills, and share wisdom and connection, for sustainable home practice. Individual follow-up may still be recommended, depending on complexity.

Programs run with a maximum of five people, 50 minutes per week, with a set start-finish date.

Programs to optimise your health and wellbeing include:

  • ‘Strengthening your courageous heart’
A focus on the upper body, opening the heart space, strengthening the upper back, improving neck/shoulder posture, and shifting the ‘gunk’ to support voice and clearer thinking.
  • ‘Anchoring your sacred core’
A focus on the lower body, releasing the lower back and hips, strengthening lower limb and core muscles, improving posture, and grounding and stabilising your centre, your core.
  • ‘Building your body-brain connection’
A focus on your balance, improving physical, sensory and cognitive components, challenging you to reduce your risk for falls, and optimising brain health.
