Art therapy can be used to support children with fine motor skills, processing difficult emotions, increasing self-esteem, aiding with communication to name a few. Many young people have a connection with creativity, as this is a time for pushing boundaries and exploring identity. With the pressures of high school, social media and climate change our young people need a safe space to develop and explore difficult emotions. Many people lose their creative self with the pressures of adulthood. Making art is known to reduce cortisol (stress hormone) and increase wellbeing.
